Quick Reference Planting Guide
Dig whole 2-3 times wider, yet the same depth as the root ball.
If using Bio-Tone Starter Plus, apply amount directed by the label in the bottom of the planting hole.
Remove plant from pot as gently as possible.
If any roots are circling, lightly loosen them with your hand, claw or rake.
Set plant in hole, be sure the top of the root ball is level or slightly higher than the surrounding ground level.
If using soil amendments, blend with dirt removed from the hole, then use to backfill.
Back fill 1/3 of the depth at a time, packing every layer very firmly, leaving no air pockets.
Only build a small watering burm around the plant if location is difficult to water.
Water plant in thoroughly, making sure all the soil settles.
If using Root Stimulator, another type of fertilizer, lime, or sulfur, apply as directed by label to the surface of the root ball.
Stake and secure if necessary.
Keep plants watered well according to demands, soil conditions and weather.
