Zorba's Dance instrumental was written by Mikis Theodorakis, and it was originally used as a soundtrack for critically acclaimed movie 'Zorba the Greek' (1964). The lively, captivating character of this theme made it timeless and well known around the world. Since the sound qualities of the modern piano are quite disparate from those of bouzouki, the traditional Greek string instrument featured in the original version of the song, it was rather challenging to achieve the same level of effectiveness and zest that is so magically projected in the movie. Therefore, this is just a humble try to emulate an uplifting level of spirit we find in Theodorakis's jewel. Transcription and performance by Silvije Vidovic.
