Thunder Knob | Day Hike
Early spring hike during shoulder season in the North Cascades on the Thunder Knob trail. The trail head had been devastated by a recent avalanche that obliterated much the the trail in the beginning. Once past the ankle deep snow and trail washout, the trail was clear and dry all the way to the top with fantastic views of Sourdough Mountain and Davis Peak as well as Colonial Mountain.
