9/11 survivors, responders receive lifelong care
The World Trade Center Health Program is one of six in the New York metropolitan area, serving those who responded that day and those affected in the weeks and months that followed. In total, there are some 400,000 people who were exposed to the toxins at Ground Zero, according to the center.
