We try to explain the main events/ reasons for the Russian Revolution in 1917

Including the February revolution which ended Tsarist rule in Russia, and the October Revolution which brought the Bolsheviks to power in Russia. We explain how Tsar Nicholas II lost power (Abdication) and how World War One negatively affected Russia and its peoples, including the demonstrations in Petrograd. The July crisis is explained including the Kornilov affair, we detail the economic chaos and how Socialist Prime Minister Alexander Kerensky was unable to restore order. The October revolutionary coup organised by Leon Trotsky and Vladimir Lenin which overthrew the Russian Provisional government bringing the Bolsheviks to power is explained setting the state for the Russian Civil War which followed. This is the Russian Revolution Oversimplified.
