How to Install a Dimmer Switch with 2 Wires
Learn how to install a light dimmer switch with only 2 wires in less than 15 minutes. You just need a screwdriver and an electrical tester.
For most cases, you’ll be connecting the black wire (line) from the wall to the black wire or black screw on the dimmer switch. The remaining red or white wire (neutral) on the switch can connect to the white wire from the wall. The bare copper wire from the wall will connect to the green screw or green wire on the switch.
