Carol I Park - Libertatii
Carol I Park is a public park in Bucharest, Romania, named after King Carol I of Romania.
The park has officially been listed as a historical monument since 2004. Administration of the park is undertaken mostly by the Bucharest City Hall, whereas monuments are in the care of the Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs.
The park was laid out between 1900-1906 according to the plans of the Swiss-French landscape architect Eduard Redont and was inaugurated in 1906 to celebrate 40 years of the reign of King Charles I. On this occasion, a jubilee exhibition was organized, in which it was Liberty Park is also presented. The general commissioner of the organization of the park was the scientist Constantin I. Istrati (1850 - 1918), university professor and academician.
