Surgeon explains the causes, risks, symptoms and investigations of incisional hernia. These hernias occur at sites of weakness in the scar tissue in the abdomen. The risk is as high as 20% after an operation. The weakness allows a lump to protrude which gets bigger with time. It may then cause pain, discomfort and is prone to incarceration and strangulation. This video highlights all of the complexities including treatment.
