'99 Passat 1.8T AEB Oil Pressure Test
Oil pressure test on my '99 Volkswagen Passat with 1.8T AEB engine with an engine noise I'm trying to diagnose. Pressure seems fine, at about 0:19 in the video you may be able to discern a low pitch sound, like blowing over the mouth of a large bottle. I could also feel it in the oil pressure gauge line at the same time, not unlike a pinched hydraulic line / garden water hose. I'll update this description when I find the source. == The rattle ended up being a bolt for the lower timing belt cover which had come loose and was rattling against the back of the pulley.
