Poppy had been part of a family outing to a nearby botanic garden. Yet, tragedy struck when she became lost in the greenery, losing sight of her family. As she frantically searched for them, an oozequito attacked her, sparking her transformation. Others around her responded with panic and revulsion, pointing and fleeing in fear. Upon seeing her new self reflected in a nearby fountain, she uttered a shocked cry. Eventually, when she was reunited with her family, it was only to discover that they were overwhelmed with horror at her mutated form. They abandoned her, shouted names at her, leaving her to fend for herself.

Poppy, having gone through a mutation process that transformed her into a sea bunny, stood in front of a mirror in a public bathroom. While attempting to process the consequences of her transformation, she stared at her image in the mirror, feeling a sense of disdain toward her changed body. She struggled with the idea of no longer looking like her previous self and felt an overwhelming fear and disgust for the beast she had turned into.
Poppy placed her paws against her face, pulling at her ears. As she did so, she experienced a sense of physical pain, realizing that her new body came with its share of disadvantages. Exhausted by the constant barrage of emotions, she sighed and then pulled up her hoodie to cover herself, seeking shelter from the discomfort she felt at her altered appearance.
