Powering the Fingal Heads community during the 2022 floods
For the tight knit community of Fingal Heads NSW, the floods in February 2022 not only prevented anyone getting in or out of their picturesque peninsula, but a town-wide power outage saw residents lose power for several days.
The Fingal Rovers Surf Life Saving Club was able to offer an oasis to the local community during the crisis, becoming the centre of the evacuation efforts. Thanks to their newly installed Redback Technologies Smart 3-Phase Hybrid System, the lights stayed on while the grid was down for 3 days, and local residents could stay on top of emergency broadcasts and charge their phones and laptops to contact loved ones.
