Throwing the laws of physics to the wind, some tech solutions providers still promise “zero latency.” We all know that’s impossible, but we’re getting closer than ever. Setting aside the business cases for ultra-low latency (which we’ll address in “The Future of Interactive Streaming” on Feb. 16), what are the latest technological advances that are enabling these sub-0.5-millisecond latency numbers, what are the trade-offs to employing them, and how low can we go?
