What are AVAs (Virtual Learning Environments)?
Definition: VLOs are units of digital educational content designed to support a specific learning objective. They can include text, images, videos, simulations, among others.
Characteristics:
• Reusability in different educational contexts.
• Accessibility for different devices.
• Interactivity and immediate feedback.
Importance: They provide flexibility to learning, facilitate the understanding of complex concepts, and can be adapted to the needs of each student.
AVA (Virtual Learning Environments)
• Moodle: A learning platform designed to provide educators, administrators, and students with an integrated, robust, and secure system for creating personalized learning environments. Moodle is widely used in universities, colleges, and other educational institutions to manage online courses.
• Blackboard Learn: Another well-known platform that facilitates the creation of online courses, offering tools for uploading content, conducting assessments, and fostering interaction between participants through forums, chats, and video conferencing.
• Canvas: A learning management system (LMS) that allows instructors and students to access courses, content, and learning activities anytime, anywhere. Canvas stands out for its intuitive interface and its ability to integrate with a wide range of educational tools.
