Let’s Play BG2 EE #55: Securing the Stronghold
For all the talk of the hold swarming with trolls, there aren’t half as many as we’ve been led to believe. That doesn’t mean the place is easy to clear; if you’re careless and bite off more than you can chew, you’ll find yourself fighting for your life in quick order. There are ways to make certain fights easier however if you listen to what other people tell you and pay attention to your surroundings. One such method is to lower the drawbridge so the guards can launch an assault on the courtyard, something that we intend to do as soon as we can.
The other hint we got was about the strange creatures that were used to burrow into the keep by the invaders. We’ve only for his description to go on, but from the sounds of it those monsters are fearsome indeed. While you might think that they’re ankhegs, let me tell you now that that’s not the case. There’s a reason you were given advance warning of them as they’re a threat that you might have to avoid if you come here as your first port of call, for they’re fearsome unlike anything we’ve fought before. You’ll see why soon enough.
