Vapour was inspired by the true story of WWII spy Jeannie Rousseau, who worked as an interpreter in German occupied France. Underestimated for being a young woman, she used this to her advantage, charming the German officers and tricking them into revealing information and showing her documents, which she memorised and passed on.
The music video for Vapour is loosely based on this story. Shot in the style of a vintage spy film, it heightens the tension of the story while complimenting the music with beautifully cinematic visuals.
The video is a combination of the hard work and talent of a lot of people, who are listed in the credits from 3:43 and this project was entirely crowdfunded by my astoundingly generous Twitch community, without whom I would never have got the opportunity to make the music video I'd dreamed of a reality.
