Marina di Castagneto Carducci (LI), a perfect day with a swell and turbid sea due to heavy rain.
There was no time to start, and our Roberto Ripamonti immediately hooked a big fish, but unfortunately it came undone... Things happen... Could it be an omen of a fateful day?
To keep him company comes Matteo Sparapani, a true expert on this beach, who shares useful tips and advanced techniques for dealing with these tricky conditions. Three rods are in action: one underwater, one on the step, and one at a distance, with three different baits - American, bibi and arenicola - but the hours pass and there is almost no movement. A few small preys, which although they help morale, do not bring much to the day. Despite all Roberto's experience, the sea does not seem to want to cooperate.
The next day, however, the conditions improve and the fishing takes a positive turn. Roberto manages to bring ashore some nice prey, including a splendid ombrine, giving a decidedly more satisfying finish.
