Rheoscopic is about as close as science gets to a potion. The swirling eddies of mica inside the solution show different currents and flows in beautiful patterns. Used for years as a way to fine tune aerodynamics, today it exists mostly as an interesting teaching tool to shot convection currents and provide a visual representation of flow. Science experiments are so cool!
