Have you ever wondered how fast a program can really run? Programmers use a special kind of shorthand called asymptotic notation to understand how long an algorithm takes to complete a task, especially as the amount of data it needs to handle gets bigger and bigger.

In this video, we will talk about time complexity and asymptotic notations. Here, we'll focus on three key notations: Omega (Ω), Theta (Θ), and Big O (O). These notations represent the best-case, average-case, and worst-case scenarios for how long an algorithm might take to run.

While all three are important, we often pay the closest attention to the worst-case scenario, which is what Big O notation helps us understand. Imagine Big O as a kind of worst-case guarantee. It tells you how bad an algorithm's performance could potentially be, no matter what kind of data is provided to it.

This video will also show you how to calculate these "tight upper bounds" using Big O notation. We'll walk through solving multiple problems where we need to identify the worst-case scenario and express it using Big O. By the end, you'll be able to understand how different algorithms might scale with increasing data size.
