US President Joe Biden: “If there were not an Israel, we’d have to invent one.”
US President Joe Biden said that “if there were not an Israel, we’d have to invent one” while speaking to Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
Biden had previously made similar comments about Israel, most famously in 1986 during a session of the US Senate where he proclaimed that it was “the best $3bn investment” the US had made, and that it would have to “invent an Israel to protect US interests in the region” if Israel didn’t exist.
