LOS ANGELES — Scientists examined signs of trauma in thousands of dire wolf and saber-tooth cat bones to better understand how these Ice Age beasts hunted and killed their prey.
Researchers at UCLA, in collaboration with the La Brea Tar Pits, analyzed roughly 35,000 bones for the study, which was published in the journal Nature Ecology and Evolution.
