If you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver.
Don't say sim racing never did anything for daily driving skills.... Sure I was getting on it down the and hill yes I knew the risk, lived in this area for quite a while that said the deer aren't generally by the road in the middle of the day. Close call this time. Skill and luck came into play for sure. The deer tripping over itself was luck and the brake modulation on lock up / oversteer control was skill.
I was doing about 29*3mph when my peripheral saw the first deer.
