Willi Holdorf - Decathlon
For our film "The Cold Rings - Unified Germany after Tokyo 1964," we visited Willi Holdorf in his cottage in Achterwehr (Schleswig-Holstein). Due to the postponement of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, the film's broadcast was delayed, so Willi unfortunately wasn't able to see it. He died on July 5, 2020. In this interview, he recalls the qualifying competitions between East Germany and West Germany, always sharing his personal impressions with a touch of Nordic humor. An impressive athlete and a very likeable person, he answers Thomas Grimm's questions.
