Our community - life in a high-rise apartment building
What is life like in the GDR-era prefabricated apartment blocks in the heart of reunified Germany? Are these buildings really as bad as their reputation suggests? In Gera-Lusan, the film explores the stories of everyday life in these housing blocks. It tells of people who enjoy living and working in them, who feel a deep connection to them, who are working to improve the neighborhood and its image, and who believe that these buildings aren't automatically places for losers and right-wing extremists, even though they do exist there. The film was made in 2006.
