A Conversation with Lester Lefkowitz
Welcome to the first half of a conversation with macro photography icon and author, Lester Lefkowitz. Lester is a New York based professional photographer with a long and fascinating career in commercial photography. He also happens to be a passionate macro photographer and a gifted educator. He joined me in the studio a few days ago to talk about his recently released 2-volume text “Close-up and Macro Photography”. In this conversation we focused on the career that started with Lester’s first book on macro photography (notably, one of the first books to come off the original Gutenberg Press) before talking a little about what you will find in Volume One of his latest book on the subject. We have a second conversation, scheduled for release at the beginning of December 2024, in which we focus exclusively on Volume Two of the book.
