Leaky VELUX window fix 2 - Another cheap DIY solution for a leaking VELUX skylight
The previous 2 leaks were from a degraded rubber seal in the frame of the window, but this latest issue was caused by something else. In the video I'll show you how to diagnose the problem and implement a permanent fix.
The rainwater was coming in from a different place this time; running down inside the roof to collect on one of the wooden beams.
As you can see in the video I first test out a potential fix by testing my assumptions using waterproof insulation tape. When found that worked, I could use sealant.
The silicone adhesive that the local DIY store said to use is here on Amazon; https://amzn.to/3LqQRxT - it sets in about an hour, so you have time to get it right & it can be wiped away with a damp cloth.
