Unemployment continues to plague Europe threatening the fragile growth experienced over the last couple of years. A drastic difference exists between the North and South of Europe, with countries like Italy, Spain, Greece and Croatia having dangerously high Youth unemployment consistently for years. This growing disparity has been largely ignored and yet is fundamental in feeding the flames of change in 2017. Continued Unemployment and a dissatisfaction with immigration policies are eroding public sentiment towards the European Union.

Prolonged Unemployment, with little improvement is starting to put a huge strain on the EU and is revealing a growing disparity between EU states and a growing disparity between rich and poor, even in countries like Germany. This could have a large impact in upcoming European Elections in 2017.
