Despite the impossible task Ubisoft Bordeaux were thrown at, they're clearly trying their best to make a tribute to classic Assassin's Creed while using tools designed to develop modern Assassin's Creed; trying harder and more sincerely than anyone has in the past eight years.
What's reassuring, it's a game that is not ashamed to be, look, and feel like Assassin's Creed... to a degree. It's sure not perfect, and there are issues I have that seemingly can't be addressed.
Still, for what it is, it met my expectations, and I'm here to observe what it's doing right, what it's too shy to show us, and the one thing I knew I would be unhappy with; movement whose sole decision-making is embedded in world-interactions with no input-layer spice. Let's talk.
