Hang Gliding Western Thrills 1979
In 1979 Maureen and I (Bob Grant) took a nine week honeymoon trip out west flying a total of twenty five sites and I was lucky enough to soar twenty three of them so needless to say I had a great trip. Maureen took lots of photos and plenty of super 8 movies so here I am including some of the action. We in fact started out at Point of the Mountain near Sault Lake City, Utah and headed south from there to Moab where Steve Lasier who built harnesses took us for a tour of Dead Horse Point Utah and Paradox Colorado. From there we went to Shaw Butte in Phoenix Arizona and then on to Torrey Pines where I flew and met other pilots who took us to many sites in the San Diego area like Hose Canyon. We then headed north toward Crestline and many other sites right up into British Columbia. From there we headed south again and flew at a competition in Sundance Wyoming and I also flew at Sand Turn in Wyoming. Sure was a great. I have lots more video from the trip and I may do other locations later.
