An update on my mothers fall and a visit to Thomas, Donut's and Snack Shop in Panama City Beach! Great burgers, ice cream and donuts!
Recently, my mother took a fall here in Tucson Arizona. Thanks so much for all the love, compassion and support that we've been receiving. We love you all! Sadly, she has fractured her Patella. (knee cap bone) This usually does not require surgery, but the recovery time can be 6-12 weeks. At her age, I believe it will be more towards the longer end.
She has a splint to immobilize the knee and is walking with a "walker" to keep her weight (mostly) off the knee. After the first few days, the pain has lessened dramatically. She has another follow-up appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon this coming Friday, March 29th. We took an AirBnb here in Tucson until at least April 1st. At that time, it's my hope to head back to Wisconsin to finish the recovery period. We would head directly back home and all our sightseeing plans have been cancelled.
