Black Hole Destroying a Star🌟

Every object in the universe has a gravitational attraction associated to it. The higher the mass, the higher the attraction. For earth, in order for our spaceships and satellites to escape, they must reach a speed of 7 miles per second and they will escape our atmosphere without fears of falling back down. The same goes with a rock.. If I throw a rock 7 miles per second, assuming it doesn't burn up before exiting, it will escape earth's pull and continue outward into space. This is known as an escape velocity. Any slower and it will fall back down. ⠀
What's interesting about this is, black holes work the same way. The only difference is its escape velocity exceeds the speed of light. We know that light is the universal speed limit, so when light enters the event horizon of a black hole.. Or the point of no return, gravitationally speaking, it cannot escape because it would need to travel faster than light (186,252 miles per second) in order to get out. This is the reason black holes are black. It is because their escape velocity is so great, not even light can escape.
