What started out as a nice ride to Stumpy Meadows and the Sierra Foothills turned very bad as the road became snow and ice covered. It hadn't rained or snowed in over a month but shady conditions and constant refreezing of the ground causes black ice conditions. Unless your equipped for riding through snow and ice, turn around at the first sign of ice. Two out of the four of us crashed our bikes on black ice this day. Lucky we were wearing all out safety gear. Yes, we were idiots to keep going.
