Last Second leaks - Apple’s GlowTime iPhone 16 Event!
We’re just hours away from the Apple Glowtime event and the info keeps coming - this time focused on the Apple Watch and Apple Intelligence - But let’s just do a quick rundown of the whole event. Just for good measure - and don’t forget I’ll be streaming for an hour before and after the event - so come join the life fun.
But let’s go rapid fire this time and not waste time!
iPhone 16 and 16 Plus - same size as last year but apparently with brighter colours, a new camera layout for spacial video, a capture button and Action button and A18 inside to support Apple Intelligence.
16 Pro and Pro max get bigger - 6.3 and 6.9 inches, up point 2 inches each from last year with thinner bezels, a new Bronze or gold colour, A18 Pro, Capture button, massively better ultra wide camera and potentially a new 256gb storage start point on the pro - which may also make it $100 more, like the Pro Max last year.
Apple Watch Series 10 gets WAY bigger, from 41 &45mm to 45 and 49mm - so if you have tiny hands, Sorry Donald. Apple MAY have a new way to implement their Blood Oxygen saturation to get around the US ban, but if not, at least the rest of us get to keep it. And it seems Sleep Apnea detection is the new health feature this year, with blood pressure not available yet - maybe next year? The same will of course come to the next gen Apple Watch Ultra, which may also get a Space black colour. And, could glowTIME mean that Apple Intelligence Siri is coming to the watch? Apple Watch SE with a plastic enclosure is still a possibility but not expected as such, but if it comes out, would you go for it? Could it have the flat sided design we thought was coming to the Watch Series 7? So many questions!
AirPods are also likely to get updates in 2 flavours, a potentially new design gen 4 which could add Active Noise Cancellation, and a more entry level version with a new design too replacing the AirPods 2nd Gen which Apple currently sells for $129.
It seems the new iPads are likely to now be at the Mac focused October event, which to me suggests M2 in that iPad mini and A18 in the base iPad 11th gen, and I’m here for that, bring it on. Both would then get Apple Intelligence.
On the Apple Intelligence though, it looks like two of the most exciting features won’t be here till next year - those being Image playgrounds and genMoji, where both features create images for you on device. Annoying, but also, new features through the year? I’ll take it.
