Fertilizer tea is an incredibly easy and effective method to provide your plants with essential nutrients every time you water them, promoting healthy and robust growth.
How to Make Fertilizer Tea:
1. Fill a 5-gallon bucket with water and let it sit for 24 hours to allow the chlorine to evaporate.
2. Add 1 cup of granulated fertilizer for every gallon of water in the bucket.
3. Stir gently and let the mixture sit uncovered for another 24 hours.
4. Strain the liquid into another bucket using cheesecloth or a similar strainer.
5. Use the strained liquid (the tea) to water your plants or as a foliar feed. Apply 2-4 cups for shrubs and 6-8 cups for trees. For foliar feeding and deep root watering, use the solution at full strength.
6. Use the leftover strained fertilizer solids as mulch around the drip zone of the plants you are fertilizing.
