I'll take you through my four-step process for planning out my monthly goals and action steps. This method can be used in any app or task manager, and I'll show you how I do it in Notion and Sunsama.

The first step is often overlooked but crucial - reviewing the previous month's accomplishments. By celebrating wins and learning from losses, you can move forward into the next month with clarity and direction. In Notion, I have a template to help me review what worked well and what needs work.

The second step is to set new goals for the month. Whether you have quarterly or yearly goals, breaking them down into smaller monthly ones will help you stay focused and achieve them. Take some time to brainstorm and get inspired, maybe even create a vision board or bulletin board with your ideas.

Next, it's time to break down your goals into actionable steps. This process, called "break it down," helps you identify the tasks that need to be completed every day or week to achieve your goals. From pricing items for a garage sale to creating signs and inviting friends over, breaking it down into smaller tasks makes it easier to make progress.

Lastly, you need to schedule your tasks and goals. Whether you use sticky notes, a calendar, or a task management tool like Asana, having scheduled tasks increases the likelihood of completing them. In my case, I use Asana and integrate it with Notion to see all my tasks and goals in one place.
