A growing body of evidence points to an archaeological dig just northeast of the Dead Sea as the site of ancient Sodom.
Dr. Phillip Silvia, Director of Scientific Analysis at Tall el-Hammam, explains why bits of pottery flash-glazed on one side and chemical analysis of salt from the destruction layer at the site not only identify it as Sodom, it makes sense of the Bible’s story about Lot’s wife being turned to a pillar of salt.
