AT THE SOUTHERN END of the Jordan River, Sodom and Jericho were destroyed, Moses was buried, and Elijah was carried up to heaven in a whirlwind. But there’s also a link to the other end of the Jordan, which in ancient times belonged to Og, king of Bashan.
