Why seek truth?
A fitting topic, I think, for the first video of a philosophy channel.
We all assume that seeking truth is something we ought to do, but why?
My answer is pretty simple: If there is something we ought to do, we would be more likely to do it if we knew what it was. If there isn't something we ought to do, then it doesn't matter. Our best bet at knowing what we ought to do is by seeking truth. Therefore, we ought to seek truth.
This is not to say there is some sort of objective morality, I for one am unconvinced that such a morality exists.
