Replacing battery in Valve Index Controller (disassembly and repair)
🚩 In this video I'm showing you how to disassemble and repair an Index controller with a dead battery.
🚩 Since Valve and Pimax refused to help me with repair or replacement, and since I just think it's wasteful to spend 270 euros to buy a new controller when you can get a new battery for 10 euros + delivery, I decided to make a guide for all folks who have been using Index Controller for longer than 2 years, and for whom the battery has died.
🚩 You need minimal skills in disassembly and soldering for this repair. Try to find a 3.8v battery, ideally with a thermistor (white wire) so your controller knows when the battery is fully charged.
