Patty Rangel created this gallery space, influenced by Plato's "Allegory of the Cave", as part of the first exhibit titled "Sensory Overload". By breaking the boundaries of how art is experienced, the guests were immersed in a visual and auditory journey
Ms. Rangel had been working in fully immersive Virtual Reality using the CAVE theater, so this represents the concept and aesthetic of that re-created experience using overlapping mediums of art, digital media/projection, 3D Stereoscopic Photography and Holography in an Installation (black box space) representing the Human Mind.
The Gallery opened its doors in October of 2010 as part of the San Diego Space 4 Art complex.
The following artists were invited to exhibit at VIRTUASOUL:
Christopher Jimenez (Digital Music)
Franklin Londin (3D Interactive Photography Displays, http://www.3deee.com)
