The US is starting to tell Netanyahu that he has got to go. With Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, the highest ranking Jewish official in the US, calling him an “obstacle to peace” and calling for new elections. With him saying “As a lifelong supporter of Israel, it has become clear to me: The Netanyahu coalition no longer fits the needs of Israel after October 7.” Schumer went on to say that he’s anguished that the war has killed so many innocent Palestinians - and finishing with "We must be better than our enemies, lest we become them," He also called on Hamas, the radical right wing, and the Palestinian leader to go as well. Schumer is one of the strongest supporters of Israel in the entire Congress. The Israeli ambassador to the United States fired back saying: “Israel is a sovereign democracy. It is unhelpful, all the more so as Israel is at war against the genocidal terror organization Hamas, to comment on the domestic political scene of a democratic ally.” But later today, the Ambassador is scheduled to speak at the House Republicans retreat and yesterday he appeared in person at the Senate Republican retreat. And now many are firing back saying that Netanyahu actively interferes in American politics all the time. Citing the time Netanyahu collaborated with Republicans to undermine the authority of the first Black President and the office he held.
