1994 was a very special year for video games. One of the strongest years in terms of sales, with an enormous number of hits across (almost) all systems. Many classics impressed and delighted console owners worldwide for the first time that year.
But 1994 also marked the beginning of the end for the cartridge, and the future in the form of the CD-ROM was already on the horizon. A new era of video games was dawning, one in which neither Nintendo nor Sega were at the forefront.
Join me on a journey 30 years into the past, to the year of the cartridge.
