Kate has been an inspiration to me since I found out about Project Sweet Peas. Our little girl, Evelyn, got very sick at 2 weeks old and we spent a little while in Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh while she got well. I was excited that one of the Project Sweet Peas founders lived so close. It wasn't long after that Kate was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. Kate is a fighter and an amazingly strong woman. Today is her birthday and many are showing their support for her by wearing pink. This morning she also went in to have her double mastectomy. Lighting up the house pink was Ernie's idea so we did our best to make it happen on such short notice. We hope this brings a smile to your face, Kate, and know that there are so many people praying for you and your family.
