Interview. Today's interview is with a representative of perhaps the most enigmatic, poeticized, and demonized musical profession – the conductor. Alexander Rahbari is a frequent guest at the Mariinsky Theatre, which is important to us, as is the fact that oriental notes shine within the Iranian's aura of mystery. Alexander Rahbari's performing career has spanned half a century and includes bizarre episodes from all over the world. In Zagreb, Prague, Malaga... A true record-breaker, he has conducted over 120 symphony orchestras and worked with many renowned musicians. Heir to the conducting traditions of the Viennese school, he is an ambassador for Middle Eastern music and the founder of the Persian International Philharmonic Orchestra. A composer, he has written fascinating scores, including the orchestral poem "Music in Defense of Human Rights" and a musical adaptation of all of Shakespeare's sonnets. Of all the turbulence in his life, the musician considers two events to be gifts of fate: meeting the genius Herbert von Karajan and receiving an invitation from Valery Gergiev.
