The vast majority of people polled in Deloitte's annual global blockchain study believe that cryptocurrencies will have a significant role in finance in the future. Financial leaders are increasingly seeing digital assets as the future, according to Deloitte. 76 percent of the CEOs polled in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas anticipated that digital assets would be a strong alternative to, or outright replacement for, fiat currencies in the next 5-10 years. Custody and new payment methods were cited by a considerable number of executives as important use cases for digital assets in the future. 39% of CEOs thought the best application for blockchain-based digital currencies was asset tokenization and the development of decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms. Regulatory hurdles and cybersecurity dangers, on the other hand, continue to be major concerns for business CEOs. Cybersecurity threats were cited as the most significant barrier by 71% of those polled, while regulatory challenges were cited by 63% as a threat to worldwide adoption and usage of digital assets. Nonetheless, Deloitte believes that the fact that standard accounting and tax implications may not apply to digital assets may work to the industry's advantage. Banks have stiff lending competition both at home and abroad. They're researching new asset-based approaches to loan issuance. These changes are expected to have a significant impact on financial services.
