Eckley Pier, Capital Corridor, afternoon...
Commodore John L. Eckley established a yacht harbor here, waaaay back in the day. The rusty you see in Eckley, California, are the remains of the S.S. Garden City, a 19th-century side-paddlewheel steamboat. After a fire in 1983 destroyed the vessel, only its boilers and paddle wheel hub remained above water at the old Eckley Pier on the Carquinez Strait.
