Launching Electric Buses at Princeton University
In 2023, as part of Princeton University’s Sustainability Action Plan to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2046, the Department of Transportation & Parking, in collaboration with the Office of Sustainability and other partners, launched a fleet of seventeen electric buses. This effort replaced the existing diesel bus fleet, saving up to 500 metric tons of CO2 emissions per year. For colleges and universities across the world who may be interested in tackling climate change by going electric, this is what we learned.
