Part 6 | Installing the Benchcrafted Tail Vise
A tail vise allows you to lay a board down on your bench top and clamp it between two "dogs" placed at various points on the bench. The dogs "bite" down on your piece, which is where they get their name. This allows you to plane the "face" or flat part of a board. This stage of the project was a little nerve racking since you have to take a big chunk of wood out of the tops you just finished. However, in the end, the installation was fairly simple!
