Carleton Place author wins book award
Carleton Place author Natasha Peterson has found the road to success is not straight, so it is only fitting the main character in her first children’s book took a roundabout path too. Peterson self-published Gayle the Goose Goes Global in August, and a few weeks later it won a Canada Book Award. The main character Gayle, a directionally-challenged Canada goose who loses her flock during migration. She is forced to either sit back and wait for their return, or take matters into her own “wings” and carve her own path. She does the latter and migrates alone, visiting many of Canadian greatest landmarks, she also learns personal lessons about her own abilities along the way.
