A job interview is not quite what it ap-pears to be.
The short film "The Interview" by team "DMT" (Dan, Mitch, Thomas/Taylor).
This was my ninth 48 hour film in the 15 years of Fredericton's 48 Hour Film Competition, which took place October 14th-16th, 2022. This is the "DMT Cut", where we recut it from the submission version so that we could go over the 4 minute runtime limit and fix some issues.
Dan Legare - Michael Finch
Thomas Johansen - Boss Bitch
Taylor Trites - Rachel
Mitch Nash - Innocent Man/Director/Camera/Editor
Special Thanks goes to Moss Hachey Law for allowing us to film at their office.
Dan won "Best Lead Performance - Comedy" and Thomas won "Best Lead Performer - Comedy".
We forgot to make a name for the Boss/Interviewer character and halfway through the day of filming we started calling him "Boss Bitch", or "BB", based on a YouTube song Thomas had shown us earlier.
The 7 rules we had to follow for the competition:
1. Theme: "Searching"
2. Camera Shot Type (Option A or B; we did both):
a) Extreme Close-Up
b) Over-the-Shoulder
3. Editing Technique (Option A or B)
a) Invisible Cut (we chose this one)
b) Cross Cutting
4. Length: 4 minutes (we managed this for the competition but this is a longer cut)
5. 2nd Language – Non-English (Written/Spoken)
6. Location: Random Draw (we got "Bridge")
7. Item: Random Draw (we got "Decorative Fruit", i.e. a Pair of Pears)
