About the CSCA Exam: Starting from the 2026-2027 academic year, all international students applying to undergraduate programs at Chinese Government Scholarship universities must provide a valid CSCA report . The exam includes:
Professional Chinese (required for Chinese-taught programs)
Mathematics (mandatory for ALL applicants)
Physics & Chemistry (optional, depending on your major)
The exam is offered five times per year (January, March, April, June, December) with home-based online testing available .
Visa Deadlines: If you enter China on an X1 visa (for studies over 180 days), you have exactly 30 days to convert it to a Residence Permit. Arriving too early risks visa expiration before processing.
Bedding Alert: Dormitory beds in China are typically 1.2m x 2m. Check with your university whether bedding is provided before packing.
